Return Policy

SurplusGrid sells industrial surplus and refurbished equipment. The following policy applies to all purchases unless otherwise stated in the listing or in a written agreement.
1. Return window
Returns are accepted within 30 days of delivery. The return window begins on the date the item is delivered (or the date you pick up the item, if applicable). Items must be received by us within this 30-day period to qualify for a return. We do not accept returns after the return window has closed.
2. Restocking fee
For non-defective returns, a 20% restocking fee applies. The fee is calculated on the purchase price (excluding original shipping). Defective or incorrectly shipped items may be returned for a full refund or replacement at our discretion; no restocking fee applies in those cases. Original shipping costs are non-refundable unless the return is due to our error.
3. No returns on installed electrical components
We do not accept returns on any electrical components that have been installed, wired, or integrated into a system. Once an electrical item has been mounted, connected, or otherwise installed, it is considered used in a way we cannot verify and is ineligible for return. This includes but is not limited to motors, drives, contactors, breakers, and control equipment. If you are unsure whether your intended use qualifies as “installed,” please contact us before installation.
4. RMA required
You must obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number before shipping any item back to us. Returns sent without a valid RMA will not be accepted and may be refused or returned at your expense. To request an RMA, contact us via the Contact page with your order number, item(s) to return, and reason. We will respond with an RMA number and return shipping instructions. The RMA must be clearly marked on the outside of the return package.
5. Condition and packaging
Returned items must be in the same condition as when shipped, in original packaging when possible, and packed securely to prevent damage in transit. We reserve the right to refuse returns that arrive damaged or in unsaleable condition, or to apply additional restocking fees if items are not as described.
6. Refunds
Refunds (minus any applicable restocking fee) will be issued to the original payment method once we have received and inspected the return. Processing typically takes 5–10 business days after we receive the item. For replacements, we will ship the replacement item as soon as possible after inspection.
